London Family Photographer: Walthamstow Family Photography Session
This relaxed and natural family photography session took place in one of my favourite local neighbourhoods, Walthamstow Village and it was an absolute joy to spend a couple of hours catching up with a bride whose wedding I photographed and her lovely young son.
One of my favourite ways to photograph families is at your home - I love being able to photograph so much context from these early years in the place where so many hours have been spent. It was an absolute joy watching this little one pottering around in his garden, watering the plants, sweeping up leaves and having a little snack before heading out to the very beautiful Hollow Ponds. To me there’s something much more meaningful about photographing a typical day in the life of a toddler, rather than putting them in a photography studio and asking them to smile! Don’t get me wrong, I love capturing smiles as much as the next photographer, but I like mine to be authentic - the kind that happen only when something is genuinely funny! And one day, when he’s older, I like the idea that he might look back on these photos which hold so many details of the first place he ever lived.
Here are just a few of my favourites from the morning - looking forward to the next session (when there will be a new arrival!) already! SO excited :-)
